Reillove the batteries whenever the FR-3x is to reillain
unused fo r an extended period of tillle.
Battery charge indication
If, while usi ng ba tteries, the "bAt" message appears in
the disp lay, th e re main in g ba ttery power is low.
Re place the batteries at yo ur ea rliest conve nience.
A fl ashin g "bAt" message means th at yo u need to
rep lace the ba tteries ri ght away (or use th e supp lied
adaptor).

The battery charge indieation is only an approxilllation .
Battery duration
New or fully charged batteries shoul d last abo ut 9
hours (for 2000 mAh Ni-M H batteries) du ring contin-
uous operation while the in ternal speakers are off
(see "Speaker Made" on p. 55 ), or 5 hams while the
speakers are on.

Aetual bat tery life varies aeeording to usage eonditions, the
quality of the batteries and the nUlllber of eharging eyeles.
En ergy saving function
The FR-3x con tains an energy saving func tion that
switches the instrument off when it is left unat-
ten ded for more than 10 min utes. Yo u may therefore
have to sw itch it on again from time to time. Yo u can
specify how lang the FR-3x should wait befare pow-
ering off automatically. See "Auto Power Off" on
p.55.

Connecting the FR- 3x to an
amplifier, mixer, etc.
The FR-3x is equipped with an internalspeaker system
and thus does not need to
be
connected to an amplifier
at all. T here may
be
times, however when using an
external amplification system is more convenient.

If you are using optional batteries and need to eonneet the
FR- 3x to a PA systelll or Illixer, we reeolllillend using a eOIll-
Illereia lly available wireless systelll to avoid having to use
exeessively long signal eables.
[NOTE]
To preven t Illalfunetion and/or daillage to speakers or other
deviees, always turn down the volullle, and tu rn off the
power on all deviees before Illaking any eonneeti ons.

Turn th e [VOL] knob all the way towards th e
small dot to minimize th e volume.
2.
Switch off all devices .
3.
Connect th e FR-3x's OUTPUT jacks to t he
inputs of your ex tern al device.

Use either a lang signal cable (10m or more) or an optional wire less system
(recommended).
Please choose unbalanced (mona) cables with 1/4"
Jacks at ane end (for the FR-3x). The connectors at
the other endneed to match the input sockets of the
device to which you are connecting the FR-3x.

If you use a eOllllllereially available wireless transmitter,
the FR-3x's output signals Illay distort. In that case, ehange
the FR-3 x's output level (see "Output Level Attenuation" on
p.55)

If you r amplifier is Illonaural, you only need to eonneet th e
L!MONO soeket.

You can also use a pair of heaclphones (Roland RH-25,
RH-50. RH-200 or RH -300)
