This chapter contains information on WinBIOS Setup. WinBIOS Setup
configures system information that is stored in CMOS RAM.
Starting WinBIOS Setup
When the Power-On Self Test (POST) executes, the following message
appears on the screen:
Hit <DEL> if you want to run SETUP
You must then press <DEL> to run WinBIOS Setup.
If the BIOS setting for quick boot is enabled, the <DEL> key may have to be
pressed before the VGA has initialized.
WinBIOS Setup features
This section describes the WinBIOS Setup features.
Icon-based user interface
WinBIOS Setup functions are all available in an easily-accessible graphical
user interface.
Automatic option selection
AMIBIOS can be configured to reflect dependencies between AMIBIOS
features and WinBIOS Setup options.
For example, the external cache option in Advanced Setup can be programmed
either to display if the computer has secondary cache memory or to be absent
if there is no secondary cache memory.
