Enter the printer name, and then click [Next].
The printer driver installation starts.
If the [User Account Control] dialog box appears, click [Continue].
If the [Windows can't verify the publisher of this driver software] message
appears, click [Install this driver software anyway].

After the installation is completed, click [Print a test page] to confirm the
printer driver is properly installed.

Click [Finish].

❒ To stop installation of the selected software, click [Cancel] before installa-
tion is complete
Changing the Port Settings for the Standard TCP/IP Port

On the [Start] menu, click [Control Panel].
The [Control Panel] window appears.

Click [Printer].
The [Printers] window appears.

Right-click the icon of the printer you want to use, and then click [Proper-
ties].

Click the [Ports] tab, and then click [Configure Port].
The [Port Configuration:] dialog box appears.
Using the WSD Port
This section explains installation when using the WSD port.
Important
❒ The WSD port can be used only under Windows Vista.
❒ To install under Windows Vista, you must have an account that has Manage
Printers permission. Log on as an Administrator.
❒ If the printer is connected using the WSD port, bi-directional communication
is not possible. For details about bi-directional communication, see "Making
Option Settings for the Printer", Software Guide.
❒ You can connect to the machine only if both the machine and computer are
on the same network segment, or Windows Vista "Network discovery" is en-
abled. For details, see Windows Help.
