Notes to Users of Windows Vista
This document explains how to install the software and make option settings for
the printer under Windows Vista.
Important
❒ Some applications included on the provided CD-ROMs might not run under
Windows Vista.
❒ Some applications included on the provided CD-ROMs cannot be installed
from the Setup menu.
❖ Installation Procedure
A Check the software included on the "Printer Drivers and Utilities" CD-
ROM.
The CD-ROM contains printer drivers for different connection methods
and other software.
For details, see p.2 "About the CD-ROMs".
B Check how the machine is connected to the computer.
This printer supports network and local connection. Choose the appropri-
ate connection method according to your printing environment.
For details, see p.3 "Confirming the Connection Method".
C Install the printer driver on your computer.
When connecting this machine to a computer that is running Windows
Vista, we recommend you use the Standard TCP/IP port.
For details, see p.5 "Installing the Printer Driver" and p.8 "Installing the
Printer Driver Using USB".
D Open the printer driver dialog to configure the printer settings.
For details, see p.9 "Setting Up the Printer Driver".
