♦ Seat with folding backrest
Vehicles with electrically adjustable backrest on front passenger
seat (USA)
– Remove right trim on seat
Vehicles with electrically adjustable seat
– Remove left trim on electrically adjustable seat
All vehicles
– Detach retaining straps for backrest cover from underside of
seat frame.
– Disconnect side airbag and seat heating wiring harnesses
from seat frame (if part of original equipment).
– Remove two bolts each on left and right -1- and -2- (35 Nm).
Note
The bolts are microencapsulated and must be renewed each time they are loosened.

Before new bolts are installed, the threads of the corresponding holes must be cleaned.

– Remove backrest from seat frame.
