The concept is presented using the example of a one-level airbag module. For the two-level airbag module,
the process of determining whether an additional earth cable must be fitted in the vehicle is carried out at the
same time.
– Check whether an earth cable is attached to the front passen‐
ger airbag housing:
♦ On a front passenger airbag with earth cable -1-, the wiring
harness -2- is three-conductor, an additional cable -3- is also
attached to the stud -4-.
♦ On a front passenger airbag without earth cable -5- the wiring
harness -6- is two-conductor, there is no additional cable at‐
tached to the stud -7-.
