Insert the IC chip included with the 1 liter ink
bottle.
• When an IC chip is inserted into the printer and the
information on the IC chip is loaded, the display will change
as shown on the right.
• IInsert the IC chip with the metal part facing forward and
down.
If you insert the wrong side by accident, it causes
faulty or damage of the IC chip.
• Do not touch the metal part of the IC chip. It may break the
IC chip by static, or may cause read error by stain or flaw.
• If the inserted IC chip is near its expiration date, a confirmation screen will appear. If OK,
press
• If there is a problem with the inserted IC chip that
prevents charging, the screen shown on the right will
appear.
• If there are multiple problems, use
through them.

When the [CHARGE START] confirmation screen
appears, press
• Charging starts.
• The ink information on the IC chip appears in the display.
• While the ink is charging, the screen on the right is
displayed.
Do not remove the IC chip or turn the printer off.

When charging is complete, the buzzer will sound
momentarily and then the screen on the right will
appear in the display.
• To check the volume and expiration date of the ink that has been charged, press the
Local. (
