Certificate Signing Request (CSR): This window enables you to define the Certificate
Signing Request (CSR) form. The IPMI uses the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol for
encrypted network traffic between itself and the remote host servers. When a connection is
made, the IPMI has to expose its identity to a remote host by using a cryptographic
certificate.
To create a certificate that is unique to a particular IPMI card or BMC card, a certification
authority (CA) must fill out the CSR form indicated in the CSR window above and click
"Create" to generate it.
Common Name: Enter the (fully qualified domain) network name of the IPMI.
Organization Unit: Enter the name of the department within an organization that the IPMI
belongs to.
Organization: Enter the name of the organization that the IPMI belongs to.
Locality/City: Enter the name of the city or the location where the organization is located.
State/Province: Enter the name of the state/province where the organization is located.
Country (ISO): Enter the name of the country or the ISO code where the organization is
located.
Email: Enter the email address of a contact person that is responsible for the IPMI.
Challenge Password: Enter a challenge Password for the Certification Authority to
authorize necessary changes to the certificate at a later time. The password shall be four
characters or longer.
Confirm Challenge Password: Enter a challenge Password one more time to confirm it.
Key Length (bits): This is the length of key generated in bits.
