Jumper pad JBT1 (refer to Figure 4-14) is used to clear CMOS memory (which also clears
passwords). Instead of pins, this jumper consists of contact pads to prevent you from accidentally
clearing the contents of CMOS memory. To clear CMOS memory:
1.
Power down the system and unplug the power cord(s).
Caution: Do not use the PW_ON connector to clear CMOS memory. Using the PW_ON
!
connector to clear CMOS memory may damage the equipment.
2. Short the JBT1 pads with a metal object such as a small screwdriver.
3. Remove the screwdriver (or shorting device).
4. Reconnect the power cord(s) and power on the system.
