INFORMATION BEFORE DRIVING YOUR TOYOTA
Electric power steering system warning
light
Vehicles without smart entry and start sys-
tem—The light comes on when the engine
switch is in the "ON" position. If the elec-
tric power steering system works properly,
the light turns off after the engine is
started, or after a few seconds. If the
system has malfunctions, the light comes
on again.
Vehicles
with
smart
entry
system—The light comes on when the
"ENGINE START STOP" switch is in
IGNITION ON mode. If the electric power
steering system works properly, the light
turns off after the engine is started, or
after a few seconds. If the system has
malfunctions, the light comes on again.

If the following conditions occur, this
indicates a malfunction somewhere in
the components monitored by the warn-
ing light system. Contact any autho-
rized Toyota dealer or
another duly qualified and equipped
professional, as soon as possible to
service the vehicle.
Vehicles without smart entry and start

system—The light does not come on
when the engine switch is set at the
"ON" position or remains on.
Vehicles with smart entry and start
system—The light does not come on
when
the "ENGINE
switch is set at IGNITION ON mode or
remains on.
The light stays on while you are driv-
D
ing.
If the electric power steering system
warning light comes on, take your ve-
and
start
hicle to any authorized Toyota dealer
or repairer, or another duly qualified
and equipped professional, as soon
as possible. In this case, more effort
is required for the steering wheel to
turn than usual. Drive your vehicle
while firmly gripping the steering
wheel.
