ENGINE (IGNITION) SWITCH, TRANSMISSION AND PARKING BRAKE
TO ACTIVATE THE DOWNHILL ASSIST
CONTROL SYSTEM
1. In order to make full use of the en-
gine brake, the transmission is in
"M1" (first), "D1" (first), "L" (first)
or "R" (reverse).

2. Push the "DAC" switch to turn the
system on. The downhill assist con-
trol system indicator light will come
on.
If the downhill assist control system indi-
cator light flashes, the transmission may
not be in "M1", "D1", "L" or "R".
If the indicator light does not come on
when the switch is pushed, or the indica-
tor light flashes when the transmission is
in "M1", "D1", "L" or "R", contact any au-
thorized Toyota dealer or repairer, or
another duly qualified and equipped pro-
fessional.
