INFORMATION BEFORE DRIVING YOUR TOYOTA
Fuel (gasoline engine)
Selecting the proper fuel is essential
for satisfactory engine performance.
Engine damage caused by use of improp-
er fuels is not covered under Toyota's new
vehicle warranty.
NOTICE
z Do not use improper fuels. If im-
proper fuels are used the engine
will be damaged.
z Do not use leaded gasoline. Use of
leaded
gasoline
will

catalytic
lose its effectiveness and the emis-
sion control system to function im-
properly. Also, this can increase
maintenance costs.
z EU area: Bioethanol fuel sold under
names such as "E50" or "E85" and
fuel containing a large amount of
ethanol should not be used. The
use of these fuels will damage the
vehicle's fuel system. In case of
any
doubt,
ask
any
Toyota dealer or repairer, or anoth-
er duly qualified and equipped pro-
fessional.
z Except EU area: Bioethanol fuel
sold under names such as "E50" or
"E85" and fuel containing a large
amount of ethanol should not be
used. Your vehicle can use gasoline
mixed with 10% max ethanol. The
use of fuel with more than 10%
ethanol content (E10) will damage
the vehicle's fuel system. You must
ensure that refueling is carried out
only from a source where fuel spec-
ification and quality can be guaran-
teed. In case of any doubt, ask any
authorized Toyota dealer or repairer,
or
another
duly
equipped professional.

Your vehicle must use only unleaded
gasoline conforming to European stan-
dard EN228.
For optimum engine performance, se-
lect unleaded gasoline with a Re-
search Octane Number of 95 or high-
er.

Your vehicle must use only unleaded
gasoline.

vehicle has a smaller fuel tank opening.
The special nozzle on pumps with un-
leaded fuel will fit it, but the larger stan-
dard nozzle on pumps with leaded gas will
not.

Select unleaded gasoline with a Re-
search Octane Number of 95 or higher.
Use of fuel with an octane or cetane num-
ber lower than stated will cause persistent
heavy knocking. If severe, this will lead to
engine damage.
USE OF ETHANOL BLENDED GASOLINE
IN A GASOLINE ENGINE
Toyota allows the use of ethanol blended
gasoline where the ethanol content is up
to 10%. Make sure that the ethanol
blended gasoline to be used has a Re-
search octane Number that follows the
above.
