D
Never install a rear−facing child re-
straint system on the front seat
with the passenger airbag manual
on−off switch in the "ON" position.
In the event of an accident, force
resulting from the rapid inflation of
the
front
passenger
cause death or serious injury to the
child. A warning label on the pas-
senger side instrument panel re-
minds you not to install a rear−fac-
ing child restraint system on the
front passenger seat.
When installing a rear−facing child
D
restraint system on the front pas-
senger seat is unavoidable, the
front passenger airbag and side air-
bags on the front passenger seat
must be disabled. Make sure that
the passenger airbag manual on−off
switch is in the "OFF" position, and
that the passenger airbag "OFF" in-
dicator light is on. (For details, see
"Passenger airbag manual on−off
