6.10.2 AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR

To test air temperature sensor operation:
!
Remove the front
(REMOVING THE FRONT FAIRING).
!
Disconnect the two-way connector (1).
!
Test sensor in a controlled environment at an ambient
temperature of 20°C (68°F).
!
Measure resistance across the terminals of connector
(1) using an ohmmeter set to a 0-20kΩ range.
Correct reading: 12.200 kΩ − 12.700 kΩ.
If the air temperature sensor is operating properly, check
the instrument panel as follows:
!
Disconnect the sixteen-way connector (2), see 7.1.19
(REMOVING THE INSTRUMENT PANEL).
!
Apply 12.4 kΩ across terminals 2 and 9.
!
A properly working instrument panel will give a
temperature reading of 20 Ø 1°C (68 Ø 3°F).
