OWNLOAD VIA LOCAL NETWORK
This procedure requires an Ethernet cable and a PC equipped with a LAN card and a web browser (i.e
Microsoft Internet Explorer release 6 or above, Mozilla Firefox (2.x or 3.x release or above ).
• Link the Multifunction (MFP) to the local network.
• Configure the Internet address of the MFP:
- Press following sequence from the main screen: SETTINGS > COMMUNICATION >
LOCAL NETWORK.
- Depending on the network configuration (i.e. with DHCP or not), press on ADR.
ALLOCATION button and set the appropriate configuration wanted.
- Automatic, if your network owns an domain name server (DHCP)
- Manual if it doesn't.
- Press on OK button to select your choice.
- If your network doesn't owns DHCP, you have to set the Internet address by yourself. This
address take form as abc.cde.fgh.ijk (where a, b, c, d, e, f, j, h, i, j, and k are numbers from 0
to 9)
- If you have choosen Automatic option you have to wait for seconds an adress from the
DHCP.
• Once is done,on the PC, start your web browser. On the address field, fill it with the address of
the machine. Press on Enter key of your keyboard. The main web page appears. Click on OK
button. Click on Services tab. The firmware web page appears.
• To upload new firmware click on Browse button. A file browser appears. It allows you to find a
firmware binary file on you PC.
• Select the new firmware file, click on Open button (or double click on it) , the field Firmware
is filled with the path to the firmware file on your PC.
• Press on Upload button and the operation of firmware upgrade starts. You should have a waiting
message on the upload web page. If a problem occurs, it will be displayed on the upload web
page. It means either the file is corrupted or the software is not compatible with the machine. Try
to restart the procedure with another file.
• After update (few minutes in some case), the machine switches itself off, then switches on again.
The PLEASE WAIT message is displayed.
• When the main menu is displayed on the screen of the machine, check the software version and
the miniboot version by typing MENU, Others Commands, Status.
