The formula represents the last 3 cells you selected. A plus sign separates
each cell, numbers in brackets indicate the position of a cell relative to the
position ofR7C2.

Revenue Minus Costs Equals Profit
To use names instead of cell references, use the Name command:
I. Press

for the Name command. The screen shows:

Revenue
in the first command field.
3. Press I
TAB
I to move to the second field. Type Rl (for Row I). Your
entry replaces the proposed response of R7C2, the current cell.
4. Press!
ENTER
I. Multiplan now regards the name,
Revenue,
as equivalent
to Row I.
When you name a cell or group of cells, the name must be I word. Don't
type spaces or hyphens. Multiplan cannot use these in a name. Also,
because you don't actually enter names on the spreadsheet itself, do not
enclose them in quotation marks.
To assign the name Costs to Row 7:
I. Choose the Name command.
2. Type Costs in the first command field.
3. Type
R7
in the second command field.
4. Press I
