Communications with a network device using the
network medium itself. Contrast with out-of-band.
A network address used on TCP/IP networks such as

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, where each xxx is a number between

Management Information Base; a well-defined
collection of statistics and control variables
accessible using SNMP.
A standard Management Information Base that
provides access to a collection of management
statistics common to most network devices.
