    4-port Ethernet hub and the latest security features. 1.1. Features The Prestige 128IMH is packed with a number of features that give it the flexibility to provide a complete networking solution for almost any user. 1.1.1. Built-in V.90 Modem This Prestige has a built-in V.90 modem.
  • Page 14 1.1.8. Built-in 4-Port Ethernet Hub The Prestige 128IMH is equipped with a built-in 4-port Ethernet hub. The built-in hub eliminates the need to purchase a separate hub when building a one to four-port network. For a larger number of workstations, additional hubs can be daisy-chained to the Prestige.

Connect a Telephone/Fax to your Prestige If you wish, you could connect a regular telephone, fax machine or modem to your Prestige to be used for analog calls just like a normal telephone line. It should be noted that this is optional and is not required for you to run other applications using your Prestige.

The Prestige is not able to place or receive calls if the wrong switch type is specified. If you are not sure, contact your telephone company to confirm the exact switch type. Make sure that you have correct and complete telephone numbers.

How to use call waiting The Call Waiting feature on your ISDN line works in exactly the same way it does on a regular analog line (which almost everyone is familiar with). After hearing a call waiting indicator tone, press and immediately release the flash hook button on your telephone.

    Prestige 128IMH User’s Guide ZyXEL 5. Configuring the Prestige for Internet Access Menu 4 of the SMT allows you to configure Internet access. Before you configure the Prestige for Internet access, you need to collect the following information from your Internet Service Provider.

This is because if no server is defined, all incoming inquiries will be filtered out by the Prestige even if you do have a server on your network. This can prevent intruders from probing your system.

A remote node is required for placing calls to a remote network. Note that when you use menu 4 to configure the Internet, the Prestige automatically adds a remote node for you.

Calling Line ID is the telephone number of the calling party of this remote node. This application allows the Prestige to provide services for workstations on a remote network. For the Prestige to be set up as a dial-in server, you need to configure the Default Dial-In Setup to set the operational parameters for incoming call.

The parameters in menu 13 affect incoming calls from both remote dial-in users and remote nodes before authentication is completed.

For instance, Internet access is the most common application of TCP/IP. For this application, you should configure menu 4. We illustrate the configuration for other applications in the following sections.

Prestige on LAN with Server When the Prestige is being connected to a LAN with a NetWare server, you do not need to configure the Prestige as a seed router and hence the network number parameter in the ethernet setup menu for the Prestige.

These call filters prevent the Prestige from making a call to the remote node, thus preventing the expense of an unnecessary telephone call. 9.5. IPX Ethernet Setup The first step is to set up the Prestige on the LAN. From menu 3, select option 3 to go to Menu 3.3 - Novell IPX Ethernet Setup as seen below.
