Removing the pressure regulator

1. Remove the intake silencer and the port
intake manifold.
2. Disconnect the hose 1 and 2, and then
remove the pressure regulator 3.
Disconnecting the high-pressure
fuel hose joint
1. Disconnect the high-pressure fuel hose
joint 1 with the collar a slide from the
end b of the joint.

Checking the fuel injector

1. Check the filter for dirt or residue. Clean
if necessary.

2. Measure the resistance of the fuel injec-
tions. Replace if out of specification.
Digital multimeter: YU-34899-A
Fuel injector resistance
(use as reference):
14.0–15.0 Ω at 20 °C (68 °F)
3. Check the operation of the fuel injector
using the "Stationary Test" of the
Yamaha Diagnostic System.
Checking the idle speed control
(ISC)
1. Check the operation of the idle speed
control using the "Stationary test" or the
"Active test" of the Yamaha Diagnostic
System.
