Configuring Storage Setup

You can connect up to seven storage devices to the HRDV16/8. These include a variety
of IDE and SCSI devices:
•
Up to four internal IDE hard drives
•
Up to three SCSI devices (see
15).
This chapter describes how to:
•
Calculate required disk space
•
Calculate how many hours the disk will record
•
Calculate event space required
•
Configure storage setup
•
View current hard drive capacity
•
Add or replace a disk drive
•
Restore the file system to its original state
•
Perform a Holdup setup
On the Disk menu, you can set up, configure, and check the status of the disk drives used
to store your digital video. When a disk is installed and operating in your HRDV16/8, a
button showing the disk information automatically highlights on the Disk menu. The
number of highlighted buttons depends on the number of additional drives that are
installed in your system. If you have purchased additional removable media drives, you
will also be able to check their status using the Disk status buttons.
