Updating Firmware; Updating Loader Firmware - Tandberg Data StorageLoader Installation And User Manual

There are two types of firmware that can be updated on the StorageLoader: loader firmware and tape
drive firmware. This chapter explains how to update both the loader firmware and the tape drive
firmware.
The Administrative User is able to update firmware on the StorageLoader. The latest firmware version
for the loader can be found on http://www.tandbergdata.com.

7.1. Updating Loader Firmware

You can install new loader firmware from the remote management interface (RMI) using the Update
Loader Firmware command.
If you choose to update tape drive firmware during this procedure, make sure that

NO cartridge is loaded in the tape drive.
Note that the Drive Firmware is not upgraded when upgrading the StorageLoader

1. Download the Loader Firmware.
a. Access http://www.tandbergdata.com.
b. Select "Service" / "Support by Product". Then choose "-StorageLoader LTO" and click
Next.
c. Choose the StorageLoader LTO generation of your product. Click Next.
d. Refer to Appendix D. Choosing Correct Firmware to determine the correct firmware
that you need to download for your StorageLoader.
e. Download the correct firmware for your product.
2. Update Loader Firmware.
a. Update the loader firmware using the Loader FW Upgrade command on the Tools
Maintenance Menu from the RMI.
