DSS CONSOLE

The DSS console gives a Busy Lamp Field and one key access to extensions or exchange lines, and simplifies the
transferring of calls. There are two types of DSS consoles, a 24 key and a 100 key console; the latter has a bottom row of fixed
keys which are detailed over the page.
Busy Lamp Field for the DSS keys:

If the DSS key is programmed as an extension:
To ring an extension
- Press EXT.1 or EXT.2 (if necessary) to select the range
- Press the DSS key
You can step onto other extensions by simply pressing further DSS keys
To transfer a call
- Place or answer a call
If on an internal call, press HOLD before the next step
- Press the DSS key for the extension
- Announce the call and replace the handset to transfer the call
or to transfer the call unannounced press TRFR and replace the handset
or if the extension is busy press TRFR to camp the call on to the extension
or press the flashing line key to retrieve the call
You cannot transfer a call to an extension in DND
If the DSS key is programmed as an exchange line:
To make a call
- Press the DSS key and dial the external number

In Do Not Disturb/On Voice Mail

Idle
Ringing
To answer a ringing line
- Press the flashing DSS key
