Move the carriage to the center of the printer and place a thickness gauge for 1.2 mm as
shown below:

Pull the timing belt by hand to move the carriage unit.
C A U T I O N

Set the PG lever at the (+) position at the rear.

Move the carriage unit to a position where it covers the gap gauge on the right-hand
side.
7.
Set the PG lever at the (0) position at the front.

Turn the Right Parallelism Adjustment Bushing toward you to a position where the
print head comes in contact with the thickness gauge. Then turn the Parallelism
Adjustment Bushing rearward (in the direction of widening the platen gap) by one
tooth and set it there. If the print head is already in contact with the gauge, turn the
bushing rearward to a position where it does not comes in contact with the gauge and
then set it where the bushing is engaged with the projection on the frame.

Set the PG lever at the (+) position at the rear.
10. Move the carriage unit to a position where it covers the gap gauge on the left-hand
side.
11. Set the PG lever at the (0) position at the front.
12. Turn the Left Parallelism Adjustment Bushing toward you to a position where the print
head comes in contact with the thickness gauge. Then turn the Parallelism Adjustment
Bushing rearward (in the direction of widening the platen gap) by one tooth and set it
there. If the print head is already in contact with the gauge, turn the bushing rearward
to a position where it does not comes in contact with the gauge and then set it where
the bushing is engaged with the projection on the frame.
13. Set the PG lever at the (+) position at the rear.
14. Move the carriage unit to a position where it covers the gap gauge on the right-hand
side.
15. Set the PG lever at the (0) position at the front.
16. Make the parallelism adjustment at the right end again and make certain that the
adjustment has been made properly.
17. Secure the left and right parallelism adjustment bushing with the screws
