Installing Windows Server 2003
This section describes the procedures for installing Windows Server 2003 without using Express
Setup tool.
BEFORE INSTALLING Windows Server 2003
Please read carefully the following information BEFORE commencing your Windows Server 2003
Installation.
Optional Board Supported by NEC
EXPRESSBUILDER
NEC EXPRESSBUILDER DVD attached to your system supports the following optional boards:
NOTE:
disk ("OEM-FD for Mass storage device") except ones listed below, see
"Exceptional Setup" and "Installing Optional Mass Storage Driver" of
"Parameter File Creator" in Chapter 6.
Supporting installation of OS in NEC EXPRESSBUILDER
– LSI MegaRAID™ SAS PCI EXPRESS™ ROMB (embedded on the mother board)
Other optional boards
– N8103-104 SAS Controller
– N8103-90 Disk Array Controller (External SAS HDD)
Installing Service Pack
You can install the Service Pack on the server. When the Service Pack is not attached to your system,
prepare it by yourself.
When using Windows Server 2003 with this equipment, surely apply ServicePack 1.
When installing Windows Server 2003 R2, it is not necessary to apply Service Pack 1.
