Installation
of the SUPERSET 4 set is simplified
because
of the
following:
Handset
and line cords are modular-connector-ended.
Line cord is captive.
No local
power
supply
is required.
Power
is provided
by the
system
and distributed
through
the line.
Only nonessential
user programming
is required
(i.e., speed
call
entry, call forward
destination,
name and timed
reminder).
Installers
can
use
set
display
feature
to
identify
lines
pro-
grammed
to appear
at the set.
Initialization
of the SUPERSET 4 set occurs
automatically
when
power
is applied
to the set.
Installation
of a SUPERSET 4 set into
a powered-up
system
consists
of:
Assembly
of
handset,
handset
cord
and
main
body
of the
SUPERSET 4 set.
Connection
of line cord to local modular
jack
Verifying
initialization
procedures
have
been
executed.
This
should
take approximately
10 s.
When procedures
are complete,
time and date are displayed.
Identification
of customer
telephone
number
and lines appear-
ing at the set.
Performance
of
installer
loop
test
procedures.
This
verifies
f
transmission
and
reception
paths
and key and display
opera-
tion.
