11—Input and Track Channel Tools
Input channel and track channels offer almost exactly the same parameters with which
you can shape their signals. This chapter describes these "CH EDIT"—short for
"Channel Edit"—parameters. They have their own chapter since they're the main tools
you use to make your input signals and tracks sound the way you want.
Input channel CH EDIT settings affect how a signal will be recorded. Track channel
CH EDIT changes affect only how the hard disk recorder plays a track, and are
therefore less permanent. If you're not sure about a change you're thinking of making
to a signal you're about to record, make the changes in its track channel.
FX return channels have their own CH EDIT parameters. However, they're a little bit
different than the CH EDIT parameters discussed here—you can learn about them in
Chapter 17.
