4.1 INTRODUCTION

Local configuration of Remote transceivers is performed through a PC
terminal connected to the

4.2 Programming Methods

4.2.1 Terminal Interface Mode

You can use a PC program such as HyperTerminal to establish a terminal
session with the Remote transceiver. The PC must be connected to the

You must use the following terminal settings to communicate with the
Remote transceiver:
• 19,200 bps data rate
• 8 data bits
• no parity
• one stop bit (8N1)
• hardware flow control disabled
• ANSI or VT100 emulation
NOTE: The exact parameters given above must be used for terminal
communication. Improper settings are a common cause of
difficulty.

4.2.2 Remote Management via the AP

You can configure several Remote parameters over the air using the AP
Management System. For more information on Remote Management
using the AP, refer to

4.3 Log-in Procedure

You must log into the radio in order to issue commands. The log-in
procedure for a Remote is somewhat different than for an AP. Follow the
procedure below:
