Remote Control

The VR-5 can be operated remotely from an external V-LINK or MIDI device. For more information about remote control,
download the separately available reference document from the following Roland website.

Error Messages

If a processing error occurs, an error message like below appears on the OUTPUT MONITOR.

If an error message appears, take corrective action as described below.
SD Card not found !
No SD card is inserted. Switch off the power to the VR-5, then insert an SD card.
SD Card is ejected !
The SD card was removed during recording or playback. Switch off the power to the VR-5, then reinsert the SD card.
Format SD Card !
The SD card is not one that has been formatted for the VR-5. Format the SD card.
This SD Card is locked !
The SD card is locked. Switch off the power to the VR-5, unlock the SD card, then reinsert it.
SD Card is full !
The SD card has no free space remaining. Switch off the power to the VR-5, then replace the SD card with a different one.
Select recording folder !
No folder for saving the recorded file has been selected. Select a folder.
Select play file !
No File to play back has been selected. Select a file.
Improper file type !
A file not supported by the VR-5 was selected. Select a supported file.
No User Logo !
The user logo data has been erased. Register a user logo again.
Clock Initialized !
The internal calendar/clock was initialized because the power supply has been stopped for a long time. Set the date and time again.
Internal FAN has stopped !
The ventilation fan has stopped. Stop use immediately, and contact your nearest Roland Service Center.
SD Card folder not found !
The playback/recording folder on the SD card was not found. Select the playback/recording folder again.
Now Recording !
Recording is in progress. Temporarily stop recording, then carry out the operation.
Do Not Eject the SD Card !
The SD card is being accessed. Do not remove the SD card.
