Using the Features on the FILE UTILITY Menu

When you edit files or folders, use the FILE UTILITY menu.

At the FILE UTILITY menu, you can use the following features.
• Copy /delete files or change file names
• Delete folders or change folder names
• Delete markers (movies only)
• Register thumbnails (movies only)
• Register a user logo (still image only) — Refer to "Registering a User Logo" (p. 53).
At the FILE UTILITY menu, you can copy files from an SD card to a USB memory device, and carry out operations on the copied files. When
connecting and using a USB memory device on the VR-5, give attention to the following points.
• Never make the connection through an extension cable or USB hub. Be sure to connect the VR-5 and the USB memory device directly.
• Open the sliding cover only when you're using the USB port. When this is not in use, be sure to keep the sliding cover closed to protect the
connector inside.
• Operation has been tested for commonly available USB memory devices, but operation with all USB memory devices is not assured.
Depending on the manufacturer and type of the USB memory devices, correct operation may not be possible.
* Connecting a USB memory device requires setting the USB mode. At the SYSTEM menu, select [VIDEO/AUDIO], then choose [USB MODE]. Set
the mode to [STORAGE]. For information on the details of the SYSTEM menu, refer to "SYSTEM Menu" (p. 64).
Copying a File
1.
Select the media.
Select the media that contains the file you want to copy.
* If you are copying an existing file from an SD card to a USB memory device, select [USB].
2.
Select the file.
Selecting the file you want to copy displays a dialog box for editing operations.
3.
Select [COPY].
In the dialog box, select [COPY].

Select the copy destination.
Select the media to copy to. If you are copying from an SD card to a USB memory device, select [USB].
5.
Select the copy-destination folder.
Select the folder to copy to. When you make the selection, [OK] appears at the lower left of the screen.
