Performing Output from the USB Port

Connect a computer.

You can output the results of video or audio mixing to a computer connected to the USB port on the VR-5.
Prior to connecting to a computer, check the USB mode of your VR-5.At the SYSTEM menu, select [VIDEO/AUDIO], then choose [USB MODE]. Make
sure the mode is set to [VIDEO OUT]. By default, it is set to [VIDEO OUT]. However, if you have changed it to [STORAGE] mode, return it to [VIDEO
OUTPUT]. Refer to "Menu Operations and Menu List" (p. 60), "SYSTEM Menu" (p. 64) for mode setup.
Supported Operating Systems
You can make connections to computers running the following operating systems.
• Windows XP Home Edition/Professional Edition Service Pack 3 or later
• Windows Vista Service Pack 2 or later
• Windows 7
• Mac OS X 10.6 or later
* Connection and operation of the VR-5 with standard-specification computers running the operating systems described above have been
verified, but connection and operation with all equipment satisfying these conditions is not assured. Connection or operation may be
impossible due to differences in setting specifications or the usage environment that are specific to the equipment.
To make the connection to a computer, carry out the steps described below.
1.
Check the USB mode of the VR-5.
At the SYSTEM menu, select [VIDEO/AUDIO], then choose [USB MODE]. Make sure the mode is set to [VIDEO OUT]. For information
on the details of the SYSTEM menu, refer to "SYSTEM Menu" (p. 64).
2.
Connect a computer.
Use the included USB cable (type A - type A) to connect the USB port on the computer to the USB port on the VR-5.
When making the connections, give attention to the following points.
• Be sure to use the included USB cable (type A - type A).
• Never make the connection through an extension cable or USB hub. Be sure to connect the VR-5 and the computer directly.
• Open the sliding cover only when you are using the USB port. When this is not in use, be sure to keep the sliding cover closed to protect the
connector inside.

3.
Wait for communication between the VR-5 and the computer to be established.
A short while after making the connection, communication with the computer starts, and the standard driver for the operating
system is loaded.
* The computer recognizes the VR-5 as a USB video device/USB audio device.
