VR-5 Firmware Update Procedure

Version Check

1. Please check your VR-5 firmware version before downloading the archive file.
2. Press [POWER] to turn on the VR-5.
3. Press [MAIN MENU] to display the MENU screen.
4. Press [System] and [System] to display the SYSTEM SETUP screen. "Version"
at the bottom of the display indicates the version of your unit.
5. Press [MAIN MENU] or [VIDEO PREVIEW] to exit the SYSTEM SETUP.
6. Press [POWER] button to turn off the VR-5.

Update Preparations

Getting the update file

Download the latest "vr5_sys_v???.zip" file to your computer. Unzip it and extract the
"Update" Folder to your Desktop. This Folder contains the files to update your
VR-5.

Items to prepare for the update

Following items are required to perform the update.
VR-5 itself
•
SD CARD formatted on the VR-5 (1GByte or more)
•
USB SD CARD reader or a PC with an SD CARD slot (Windows or Mac)
•
The downloaded "Update" Folder
•
Caution when performing the update
Don't use this system program for any product other than the VR-5. Doing so
•
may damage the data or system of your other product.
We recommend that you save your user data (MENU PARAMETER) before you
•
perform the update.
Never turn the VR-5 off during the update process - the VR-5 may not reboot. If
•
this should happen, contact Roland Systems Group to schedule repair. *** Users
are responsible for any failures caused by updating the VR-5 in the field. ***
