Creating Indexes
By default, the entries in MasterDirectory are sorted by the first two fields. The index that provides sort
order is created with the directory. It is possible to create additional indexes for any field and change the
display sort order. (See "Setting the Display Sort Order" later in this chapter.)
NOTE:
Indexes should be defined and created prior to importing data from the source files.
To create the indexes for a directory:
1.
Open the directory you want to change.
2.
From the Settings menu, choose Directory Properties.
The Directory Properties dialog box appears, displaying the General tab.
3.
Click on the Index Fields tab.
The Index Fields tab appears.
The current indexes for the directory are displayed in the Current index fields are list box. The Index
Fields list box shows the fields that are used for indexes.
