10. If removing or replacing a device, remove the mounting guides from the old device and secure
them to the new device with the same screws. Make sure the guide with the notched side is on
the left side of the device (as seen from the front).
11. Set device ID and other settings as needed on the new device. See the label on the device for
more information.
12. Lift and hold the locking plate.
13. Slide the device (in its tray or in its mounting guides) into the base unit.

14. Align the front slot in the left mounting guide with the tab on the locking plate.
15. Lower the locking plate.
16. Tighten the locking plate thumbscrew.
17. Connect the power and data cables to the device.
18. If removing or replacing the floppy disk drive, replace the CD-ROM drive.
19. Replace the rear fan. See "Cooling Fans" in this chapter.
20. Replace the top cover and close the front panel. See Chapter 7, "Gaining Access to System
Components."
