1. Observe the safety and ESD precautions at the beginning of this chapter. Also see the cabling
considerations on page 91.
2. Open the front bezel by rotating its right side out and to the left.
3. Push the tab (A in Figure 30) on the left side of the EMI metal shield to the right to disengage
it from the chassis. Save the shield.
4. Remove the drive from its protective wrapper, and place it on an antistatic surface.
5. Record the drive model and serial numbers in your equipment log (page 155).
6. Set any jumpers or switches on the drive according to the drive manufacturer's instructions.
7. Using two screws of the appropriate size and length (not supplied), attach each plastic slide rail
with its metal grounding plate to the drive.
