This unit has digital jacks for direct transmission
of digital
signals
through
either coaxial
or fiber optic cables.
• DIGITAL OUTPUT
jacks
and analog
OUT (REC) jacks
are independent.
Only digital signals
are output
from DIGITAL OUTPUT
jacks
and analog
signals
from OUT (REC)jacks.
• You can use the digital jacks
to input PCM, Dolby
Digital
and DTS bitstreams.
• When you connect
components
to both the COAXIAL
and OPTICAL
jacks, priority
is given to the input signals
from the COAXIAL
jack.
• The OPTICAL
jacks
on this unit conform
to the EIA standard.
If you use a fiber optic cable that does not conform
to this standard,
this unit
may not function
properly.
• You can designate
the input for each digital jacks according
to your component
by using "8 I/O ASSIGNMENT"
on the SET MENU
(see
page __ for details).

frequency.
• 32 kHz
• 44.1
kHz: CD, CD-R and MD
• 48 kHz:
DVD (48 kHz mode)
° 96 kHz:
DVD (96 kHz mode)
• 192 kHz (coaxial
input
only): DVD audio (2-channel)
Before
you connect
any components,
disconnect
the power
supply to all the components
you plan to connect
including
this unit and deter-
mine which jacks
are for the left and fight channels
and for input and output.
When you connect
other YAMAHA
audio component
(such as a CD player
or changer,
MD deck, or tape deck), connect
to terminals
with the
same number
labels. Yamaha
applies
this labelling
system
to all its products.
