Responding to Fabric Watch Messages
End-to-End Performance Monitor Class Messages
Invalid CRCs Area Messages
Probable Cause
Errors have been detected at the FC frame. Invalid CRC messages occur when the
number of CRC errors in fibre channel frames for specific source ID (SID) and
destination ID (DID) pairs change. These messages may also be caused by dirty
equipment, temperature fluctuations, and aging equipment.
Recommended Action
To reduce CRC messages, experiment with alternative topologies and cabling
schemes. Clean equipment, check temperatures, and replace old hardware.

FW-CHANGED, 4, eePerfCR<element index> (EE Invalid CRCs <element
index>) value has changed. current value : <value> Change(s). (info)
Explains that the cumulative number of CRC errors has changed. Provides
the new value.
This is an informational message. Respond to this message as is appropriate
to the particular policy of the end-user installation.
FW-ABOVE, 3, eePerfCR<element index> (EE Invalid CRCs <element
index>) is above high boundary. current value : <value> Change(s). (faulty)
Explains that the cumulative number of CRC errors has risen above the high
boundary. Provides the new value.
The CRC error area of the End-to-End Performance Monitor class helps you
tune your fabric. If a topology or cabling scheme creates a number of errors
that exceeds the high boundary, consider alternative topologies/schemes to
reduce the number.
FW-BELOW, 3, eePerfCR<element index> (EE Invalid CRCs <element
index>) is below low boundary. current value : <value> Change(s).
