Importing DXF files using the (GSP) AutoCAD Drawing
Interchange Filter
Use the DXF – (GSP) AutoCAD Drawing
Interchange File Filter to import DXF files. This GSP
filter supports ellipses and LWPOLYLINES. The
Import Options dialog box automatically appears
when you open or import a DXF file using this
filter.
Layer Information
DXF files may have layers. In the Layer Information
box, turn on All Layers to import all of the layers in
the file. By default all of the layers are flattened to
the current layer during import. To maintain th
original named layers you must turn on K
Layers in the Import or Open dialog box.
To import a single layer you must first import the
file using All Layers. As the file is imported, it is
scanned for layers and the layer names are saved with the DXF file. When you re-import
file, the Layer Name menu is active and you may choose a layer to import from the list.
Joining open shapes
To automatically join open shapes when importing the DXF file, turn on Auto Join. Enter a Joi
Tolerance to specify the range in which open shapes will be closed. If the open shapes do no
close using the Auto Join command, increase the Join Tolerance value. If shapes are joined
inadvertently, decrease the Join
500 mils (0 and 0.500 inches).
Default Font
Choose a Default Font to replace any font used in the DXF file with a Gerber font. Enter a valid
Gerber font name in the Default Font box. Y
for example, americana bold acct.ak.rev c.
Input Units
Choose Inches, Millimeters, or Centimeters as the Input Units to use when importing the file.
