• To avoid traffic loss, you must downgrade the switch fabric one plane at a time. To do that, you must
replace each FC-140G/S card with an FC/S card and restore service to that fabric plane before
downgrading the next fabric plane.
You might want to perform the downgrade during a network maintenance window or when system

traffic is light.

• We recommend against moving a chassis after it is cabled. Before the fabric cables are installed, the
chassis should be fully installed with power supplies, console cables, grounded, and so forth
