2. Variation of the OPC belt potential.
a. The OPC belt is biased to -CBV(V).
b. The OPC belt surface is evenly charged to -Vo(V) in the
charging process.
c. During the exposing process, the optical unit emits a laser
beam that strikes the OPC belt surface forming an
electrostatic image. The electrostatic image is at -VR(V)
potential.
d. The negatively charged toner is moved to the OPC belt in
the development process due to the difference between
-VR(V) and -DBV(V). A visible image is the result.
e. The negatively charged toner on the OPC belt is moved to
the transfer drum because the potential GND of the transfer
drum is greater than -VR(V) of the OPC belt.
f. The OPC belt is discharged by the erase lamp radiating on
the OPC belt.
