Managing Discovery Domains

In this step, you configure discovery domains and discovery domain sets for managing iSCSI device
access control. The Discovery Domains pane displays all discovery domains and discovery domain sets
and allows you to manage them.
When you select DDInfo in the tree in the left pane, you can create a discovery domain. If you select an
object in the discovery domain set listed you can view, create, edit, delete, enable, or disable any of the
discovery domain information contained in each object. If you select a discovery domain object, you
can edit or delete the data contained in the object.
Discovery domains are placed in a discovery domain set.

About Discovery Domains (DD)
In the Create DD wizard you can configure the DD, add DDs to DDSets, and view the confirmation
report.
Note
When you create new DDs, you specify a DD name, but you cannot edit or change the name when you
edit the DDs.
When you launch the DD or DDSet wizard, you can add or remove virtual targets to the selected DD or
DDSet. The wizard displays all available initiators and targets grouped by initiators and targets on the
left side. Depending on how the wizard is launched, the right side will be blank or list current members
of the DD being used:
When the wizard is launched using Create, the right list will be blank.
When the wizard is launched using Edit, the right list will have current members of the DD being
viewed.
Discovery domains can be created with virtual targets, iSCSI initiators, or both.
