Configuring the Switch

Enable Telnet

Select this option from the Configure menu on the menu bar to place a check
mark in the check box to enable telnet access to the switch. Select the option again
to remove the check mark and disable telnet access. When disabled, users at
remote workstations cannot access the switch through telnet to use the Command
Line Interface (CLI) or perform other tasks. When enabled, users at remote
workstations cannot access the interface. If enabled, HP recommends changing
the user names and/or passwords from the default values to prevent unauthorized
access.
