Making the host name the same as the device name

Pinging devices from the control point PC

2. Proceed as follows:
If you previously applied credentials to the device that were different than the
global credentials and now you want to apply the global device type credentials,
select
Use Global Credentials
If you want to apply credentials to the device that are different than the
device-type credentials, select
The Set Device Logon Credentials dialog box opens.
3. Enter the user name and password for the device and click
credentials, right-click on the device and choose

1. Verify that the current device name, as displayed in the SiteCon g tree view, is
the same as your desired host name.

Network Configuration | Devices | Device

The Edit Device dialog box opens.
3. If the host name is currently different than the device name, click

This changes the host name to be the same as the device name.

You can send the ping command to one or more devices in the system description
over the network to which the control point PC is connected. Typically this is the
