General troubleshooting
13.1.1
General errors
Error
Device does not respond.
Values on the display invisible
"Communication error" is
indicated on the display when
starting the device or
connecting the display.
Duplication of parameters via
display from one device to
another not working.
Only the "Save" and "Cancel"
options are available.
Output current <3.6 mA
HART communication does not
function.
CDI communication does not
work.
Device measures incorrectly.
No communication with device
via SmartBlue
Login via SmartBlue not
possible
Possible cause
Supply voltage does not match
the value indicated on the
nameplate.
The polarity of the supply
voltage is wrong.
The cables do not contact the
terminals properly.
Contrast setting is too weak or
too strong.
The plug of the display cable is
not connected correctly.
Display is defective.
Electromagnetic interference
Broken display cable or display
plug.
Display with backup is not
properly detected if a data
backup was not carried out on
the new device previously.
Signal cable connection
incorrect.
Electronics module is defective. Replace electronics.
Communication resistor
missing or incorrectly installed.
Commubox is connected
incorrectly.
Commubox is not set to "HART". Set Commubox selector switch to "HART".
Wrong setting of the COM port
on the computer.
Parameter configuration error
No Bluetooth connection
The device is already connected
with another smartphone/
tablet
Bluetooth module not
connected
Device is being put into
operation for the first time
Diagnostics and troubleshooting
Solution
Connect the correct voltage.
Correct the polarity.
Ensure electrical contact between the cable
and the terminal.
• Increase contrast by pressing  and 
simultaneously.
• Decrease contrast by pressing  and 
simultaneously.
Connect the plug correctly.
Replace display.
Check grounding of the device.
Replace display.
Connect display (with backup) and restart
device.
Check connection.
Install the communication resistor (250 Ω)
correctly.
Connect Commubox correctly.
Check the setting of the COM port on the
computer and change it if necessary.
Check and correct the parameter
configuration.
Enable Bluetooth function on smartphone or
tablet
Disconnect the device from the other
smartphone/tablet
Connect Bluetooth module (see SD02252F).
Enter initial password (ID of Bluetooth
module) and change it
