S Moving the cursor
There are various cursors, including a cross-hair cursor (intersecting vertical and
horizontal lines) used for drawing graphics and a box used for specifying the posi-
tion of character displays. These cursors can be moved either with the arrow keys
([ ][ ][ ][ ]) or with the mouse. Pressing one of the arrow keys while holding
down the [Shift] key gives larger motion increments (of 16 dots).

The following operations are possible, depending on the key that is pressed first
When the [INS], [BS], [DEL], [ ], or [ ] key is pressed first, the operation corre-
sponding to that key is performed while the existing data remains in the input field.
This saves having to input data again when making modifications.
When a key other than one of the above is pressed first, the input field is cleared as
the character corresponding to the pressed key is input. This makes it unneces-
sary to clear the existing data before inputting the new data.

The [Insert] key is used to select whether the insert or
overwrite mode is effective for character input.
: Insert mode
The character cursor can be moved to the left and right
with the [ ] and [ ] keys. Pressing the [ ] or [ ] key
while holding down the [Shift] key shifts the cursor to the
head or end of a character-string.
An input character can be deleted by pressing the [Back
Space] key or the [Delete] key.
All characters being input can be deleted by pressing
the [CLR] key.
Pressing the [F3] (Mark) key on the character input
screen displays the mark list window. Select the mark
to be input with the cursor and press the
