Measurement Modes and Measurements

The HP 3563A allows you to make the following measurements:
Frequency Response
Power Spectrum
Auto Correlation
Cross Correlation
Histogram
Some measurements are not available in all measurement modes. For example, the histogram
measurement can be done only in linear resolution or time capture modes. The next section shows
you the measurements that you can do in each measurement mode. Measurements are selected with
SELECT MEAS
the
hard key.
Note
You can also perform Time Throughput measurements with the HP 3563A.
However, this measurement is available only in linear resolution and log resolution
modes. See chapter
The Measurement Process
For all measurements, data may be taken through one or two channels, either of which may be
digital or analog, in any combination. Figure 2-3 shows you the measurement process used by the
HP 3563A. The process flow does not always include all the blocks shown
measurements do not use the digital filter, trigger, window, or FFT blocks
collected, it may be processed in any number of ways or not at all, as is shown by the display options
on the right side of figure 2-3.
