Installing the High-Performance Measurement
Coprocessor
Before you install the HP 82324 High-Performance Measurement Coprocessor,
you should verify its configuration. (Refer to "The Hardware Configuration
Switch.") You should also install any desired additional memory. (Refer to
"Installing the Memory Boards.")
You can install the measurement coprocessor in any desired 16-bit slot.
The measurement coprocessor takes just one full slot.
It
does not interfere
mechanically with cards in adjacent slots, even with two memory boards
installed. However, DIO interface cards (SRM or GPIO) must be installed in
the slots immediately to the left of the measurement coprocessor (as seen from
the front of the computer) so that the DIO cables can be connected to the
measurement coprocessor. Leave space for any DIO cards you have.
Installation Procedure
After your measurement coprocessor is configured, install it in your computer
as follows:

Electrostatic discharge can damage computer circuitry. Follow
the precautions given in "Handling Circuit Boards and ICs
Safely" throughout the installation.
1. Turn off your computer and unplug it.
2. Remove the cover from your computer. If you have a desktop Vectra PC,
remove the three screws shown in the figure that follows, slide the cover
forward about 1

inches, and then lift the cover from the computer. (For
other computers, refer to the instructions supplied with the computer.)
