Radiocommunication Apparatus (All Frequency Bands).
Based on the highest radiated RF power and the highest antenna gain in antennas to be used
with the XL Series mobile radio, the distances listed are considered as safe distances for
controlled and uncontrolled environments with the XL Series mobile radio transmitting at a
maximum 50% duty cycle.
1.4.1
Mobile Antennas
The antenna(s) for the radio must be installed in accordance with the antenna installation
procedures presented in the radio's Installation Manual. Installation guidelines presented in the
Installation Manual are limited to metal-body motor vehicles or vehicles with appropriate ground
planes.
Use only approved/supplied antenna(s) or an approved replacement antenna. Unauthorized
antennas, modifications, or attachments can cause the FCC RF exposure limits to be exceeded.
Refer to Section 3.4 for the list of approved antennas.
