Appendix A: Troubleshooting

PCI system compatibility problems

Matrox Corona does not work on my PCI-bus system.
Some PCI systems do not recognize PCI-to-PCI bridges due to
limitations in their BIOS software. Consequently, the system
will not boot since it cannot initialize the display controller.

Grabbing problems

IRQ conflicts
In general, PCI devices can share an interrupt line (IRQ).
However, sometimes this might not be possible. The types of
difficulties that you might run into are as follows:
BIOS driven IRQ conflict under Windows NT 4.0
In the event that your Matrox imaging board(s) cannot share
an IRQ line, allocate a different IRQ to each device in the IRQ
Configuration Setup section of the BIOS Setup Program
(accessible on bootup).
IRQ conflict under Windows 95
You can resolve this problem either by re-assigning a
different IRQ value to the PCI slot in which the Matrox board
is installed or by changing the resource settings in the
Windows' Device Manager property sheet. This sheet can
be accessed using the System utility in the Control Panel.
Note that PCI devices cannot share interrupt lines with EISA
or ISA devices.
Other possible solutions to the above problems:
Move the Matrox Corona board to another (free) PCI slot.
Swap Matrox Corona with another board.
Try one of the four Matrox Corona DIP switch SW2
combinations which are described in Appendix B.
