Chapter 5: Using multiple Matrox Corona boards

Using multiple Matrox Corona boards

This section describes how multiple Matrox Coronas can be
supported in a single PC.
When Matrox Corona boards are in multi-head display mode,
the display of grabbed images from each board will be live or
pseudo-live, depending on the position of the windows and the
PCI bandwidth.

Multiple board installation

Install each additional Matrox Corona board in the same way
you installed the first (refer to Chapter 2). In other words, place
each additional board in an empty PCI slot, taking care that it
avoids the CPU heat sink. You can theoretically have as many
as 16 Matrox Corona boards installed in your PC at one time;
this number is, however, limited by the number of empty slots
in your PC and, for simultaneous grabs, by the available
bandwidth of your PC.
Matrox Corona boards, to be used in multi-head display mode,
must be in VGA mode (their DIP SW1 position 2 must be off).
For more information about selecting your display mode, refer
to Chapter 2.
Using MIL-Lite, you have to allocate a MIL system for each
board and allocate the resources of each MIL system.
