Chapter 6: Matrox Corona hardware reference
MGA-Rainbow Runner
The MGA-Rainbow Runner provides a direct path for real-time
digital video to display memory acquisition with high quality
down scaling and color space conversion.
It is only available for continuous standard-resolution,
interlaced video streams (RS-170, CCIR, NTSC, and PAL).
Video encoder
In the display section, an optional factory-installed
NTSC/PAL/RGB video encoder provides an additional video
output with overlay from Matrox Corona to external video
devices (for example, VCRs). The video encoder can be
programmed to output square pixel or CCIR 601 resolutions in
either component RGB video or both composite and Y/C video.
Note that when using the encoder, the VGA display mode
must be in a 640x480x32-bit (NTSC) or 768x576x32-bit (PAL)
resolution (non-interlaced) because the encoder does not
have a scaler.
